So I did something this weekend that I should probably have done months ago... I started reading my camera manual. I know, I know, but I just never seemed to get around to it and have been mostly using auto since I bought it. I'm ashamed!
So I took a little time out on Sunday and started reading. I want to better my photographs, and get the most out of my camera. The thing I want to know about most is aperture and how to get that pin sharp focus on the desired subject but with a beautiful blurred background.
I found some great photography links that are super helpful too...
~ Have you discovered PicMonkey yet? It's the free online photo editing software designed by the creators of the now discontinued Picnik. If you don't have Photoshop or something similar, this looks amazing!
~ There is a lovely tutorial on taking product photos on The Wonder Forest blog.
~ And if you fancy a great book to help with photographing your products, definitely check out this one.
~ And finally take a peek at the etsy product photography guide too.
I hope they are helpful. I am itching to get practising with my camera before my new products arrive this week. Learning how to take better photographs is going to be fun.
