Lots of crafty goodness occured this weekend.
There were scarecrow costumes thrown together ready for school harvest festival.
A charity shop shirt, a few hastily sewn on patches, a sunflower hairclip, and some chopped up felt around the edges pretending to be straw. Voila - scarecrow!
I also had twenty drawstring bags to sew for school because I *accidentally* said that I could help out with making storysacks. It was one of those moments where I found myself saying yes, but thinking "what am I doing, I don't have time for this?!"
But it wasn't too bad, and it's nice to help out.
There was another moment of saying yes but thinking "aaaaah" this weekend too when Matilda noticed my sewing machine out. She sidled over and gave me her best cutie-pie face and said "Mummy... will you make me a special hat?"
A hat?! Good grief! Clothes are certainly not my forte.
But I managed to cobble together this "Downton Abbey meets some kind of cute pixie" hat out of felt and lace scraps. And thankfully Matilda was thrilled!
