Those of you that follow me on facebook or twitter will know that I am contemplating changing the packaging of my kits ever so slightly. Nothing too different, just refining really.
At the moment I use adhesive labels on the kit boxes, but in order to keep costs down and use my time more effectively (instead of hand cutting each label) I have mocked up a new packaging design. Wraps/sleeves to slide around the boxes.
Using wraps will give a lot of extra space for prettiness and information. I'm thinking that each kit will have it's own colour coded sides. Yellow for chicks, blue for kittens, green for robins etc.
On the back I will be able to include really clear photos of everything inside. And maybe a little bit of Clara's story, along with essential information such as sizes and barcodes (if I ever get to that point).
Slightly more of a change, I'm thinking of moving the small kits into these bags with similar sleeves around. The bags are 100% recycled tin tie bags, like the kind coffee comes in. They have a window in the front, which is covered by the sleeve but would allow for peeking!
They are really thick sturdy paper bags, not like the average brown paper bag, and I think would suit the range really well. I'm trying to think ahead and make everything more "shop friendly" for when I venture into wholesale a bit more.
I would really love your thoughts on this so any advice is very welcome. Please do let me know xx
