I am beyond excited to tell you that my bamboo hearts are now available. The response has been slightly overwhelming and I'm so thrilled that you like them.
The small hearts can be personalised with a date on the front and a name on the back. They make lovely new baby/christening gifts. They would be perfect for weddings too with the wedding date on the front, and the couple's initials or names on the back.
Each heart is individually personalised by hand. Vintage hand stamps are used to create the beautiful lettering. The wording is almost like a secret message as upon first glance it may not stand out, but when it catches the light it becomes beautifully clear.
The larger hearts can fit your chosen message on (up to around 50 characters per side).
As I realised from the pre-launch orders, they work as gifts for so many different occasions.
I've got two special Father's Day editions which can be personalised with the child's name or initials.
The daddy hearts have slightly more manly ribbon options too. Can ribbons be manly?!
I think the thing I love most about these hearts is that they are made from bamboo. It's a hard wood that looks very similar to teak, but feels exceptionally soft and smooth to touch. It's very luxurious, ethically produced and is completely carbon neutral. It was such a good discovery - thanks to Tom for his middle of the night researching.
I sourced some locally made beeswax to treat the hearts with. It is made by bees a few miles away from my house and is definitely the most luxurious wood polish I've ever come across. It definitely adds a whole extra quality to the hearts.
There are lots of different ribbons to choose from.
No two hearts will look the same, each has it's own individual wood grain and natural flaws.
I'm working on some personalised cards that the small hearts can be presented on. They will be available later this week - I'll let you know when.
I think the cards add quite an extra special something, don't you? The Noths team have suggested I create versions of the cards for different occasions, which I think is a great idea. I'll try and get them ready asap.
But for now, the hearts themselves are available. I've been feeling quite nervous about them, wondering whether anyone else will like them as much as me. But thankfully, since the pre-launch orders have been arriving through letterboxes this week, it seems that I'm not the only one in love with them. Phew.
